Masking practices only truly make sense when they are put into action. Gestures, dance, music, song or silence: each element plays a part in the ritual or performance. This is why, for several decades, the museum has been developing a dedicated audiovisual collection consisting of film recordings, sound recordings, testimonials and documentaries.
These images and sounds bring the object back to its living and sensitive dimension, offering visitors an immersive experience and a deeper understanding of the worlds in which masks come to life.
